Southern is said to have worked for seven years with the Conservative Party, starting off in youth politics. She was part of the media strategy team during the 2010 election campaign.In the video tape she described her relationship with Cameron thus: “I spent more time in the first third of [2010] with DC than I did with anybody else in my life …I am friends with all the people who are now his closest advisers. Im friends with the people who are chiefs of staff to members of the cabinet. Im also friends with a number of people in the cabinet”.
