A FORMER News International chauffeur who was falsely accused of fraud has been cleared after his trial collapsed.
Paul Maley, 43, who denied one count of fraud by false representation, was accused of posing as an ex-police officer in order to set up a security company for dignitaries and executives.
The jury in the trial was discharged on February 2 on the orders of the judge, Recorder Joshua Swirsky, for the Crown Prosecution Service to consider its position in the case, but at a hearing last Friday (March 2) no further evidence was offered.
A defence costs order of £555 was also made to Mr Maley, of Lower Road in Grayshott.
